Teachers at Woodville Primary School provide rich teaching and learning programs for all students in Learning Hubs. Student learning in Literacy and Numeracy is based on on-going formative assessments. Teachers plan and work together in their Hubs to deliver targeted teaching to ensure student learning needs are met.
Other programs important to us are Woodville Kids are Friendly Kids - a social skills program, Visual Arts, Physical Education and LOTE. Information, communication and technology tools and programs are used across the school. We currently have a 1:2 iPad program from Prep to Grade 6 and a bank of netbooks available for use across the school
Building and maintaining relationships with students, parents and each other are considered extremely important. Woodville is a School-Wide Positive Behaviour School. Along with our school values of Courtesy, Respect, Cooperation and Responsibility we have three school wide expectations Together we are Safe, Together we are Respectful and Together we Achieve. Our values and expectations support and underpin our Student Code of Conduct and form the basis of our interactions and approach to student and staff welfare.
Our students are given opportunities to participate in many programs to gain leadership skills. Some leadership roles include School Captains, Student Representative Council, Peer Mediators, Literacy Buddies and Buddy program both at school and in the wider community. Parent and community participation is also greatly valued and appreciated at our school.
Welcome to Woodville Primary School one of the popular educators in your Hoppers Crossing area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
